We were there!

The latest happening in the quiet town of Teluk Intan? Well, it's certainly not quiet anymore after the opening of McDonald's 24 hours Drive Thru on the 13th of December 2008 and it's been the number one destination for youngsters, kids or families to hang out anytime ever since.

They had an official opening for their outlet last weekend (15th February 2008) and guess what?

TADIKA QE WAS INVITED TO PERFORM AT THEIR GRAND OPENING!

The children were very, very excited at the thought of it. Even though they had only very little time to practice, they still did well enough to entertain the audience. There were two performances by us: one was the Chinese dance by our ex-students that was so popular during our concert last year because it was so well-performed and another one by our very talented cute little singers from Level 3 this year.

They even have colouring competitions for children aged 5-12 years old. And every kid who either took part in the colouring contest or performed during the function are entitled to a voucher to redeem a free meal that afternoon in McDonald's! Double the excitement for the kids!

Wooooooooooo! The teachers who went with the kids got vouchers for a free meal there as well.

A Day Without Electricity.

So today there was no electricity supply in a small part of Taman Teluk Intan and it just so happens that our school is in that part as well.

Early in the morning, teachers have all been standing in front of the school due to a few reasons:
1. To escape the heat inside the building because the fan and air-cond couldn't be turned on
2. To look after the kids who were sitting outside because they want to escape the heat as well (well it was hotter for most of them because most of them were playing and jumping around and SWEATING)

No classes can be conducted in the building because it was so dark and so hot.

So the children gathered at the two porches (Level 1 kids in one porch and Level 2 & 3 kids in another porch)

The principal sang songs with the Level 1 children in the morning and they were having so much fun.

Then, it was recess time.

Then, it was lesson time after recess. The teachers decided to make it more interesting for the kids. There were story-telling sessions, singing sessions and many more.
